Just when you thought you have seen everything, a rap video emerged in which a Nun is rapping for Pope Francis. You open the video with a mindset of making a mockery out of the video, and then you are left stunned with something that you have never seen in your life before.
You’ll expect a nun to make a ridicule of her in that rap video…well, you’ve been proven wrong! By the way, I was proven wrong since I was not expecting that the rap would blow my mind.
Sister Maria Valentina is from Columbia and she belongs from Músicos Católicos Unidos (United Catholic Musicians) – a group that spreads the gospel through online radio, music videos, and Music. In the video, the 28 years old nun performed a simply awe-inspiring rap of the official anthem of Pope Francis’ visit to Columbia.
The way she moves, the way she makes people dance around her, it delivers a strong message about love and unity. The most amazing thing about Sister Maria Valentina’s rap is that she believes that it delivers a strong message if it encompasses truth just like Jesus Christ. Pope Francis invited the group to come and perform – a big honor for the whole group. She said: “ It’s the fact of doing what he (Pope) invited us to do, to have fun, to be a community, to reach the poor, the unassuming. What’s better way than through music?
One thing is for certain that the singing and dancing nun group is spreading a strong message to the world about spreading the love. What really baffled me is the fact that they chose an unconventional way for the nuns to spread the message.
Even though I have been proven wrong a lot of time in my life and it is always hard to digest it, but for once I am happy that I was proven wrong – that nun knows how to rock!
